The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has conferred on the popular fuji musician, King Saheed Osupa, the Icon of Excellence Award.
The award was presented on behalf of the association to Osupa by its National Deputy Senate President, Comrade Oluwasegun Famuyibo, at the musician’s house in Magodo Lagos.
Olusegun said the musician was one person the association had come to recognise due to his numerous contributions to youth development in Nigeria.
Speaking after being conferred with the award, Osupa commended NANS for recognising him and advised Nigerian students not to allow themselves to be used by politicians as political thugs, promising to give out scholarships to some outstanding students in some selected universities across the nation.
He also advised students to attach importance to their academic pursuits and shun cultism.
Other NANS executives present at the event included Comrade Jide Lawal, Comrade Adewoye Abraham Temitayo, Comrade Sola Ninalowo and Comrade Pelumi Ogunbekun.
